You are invited to "Friends Days" at Action Church. Sunday August 22nd and Sunday September 5th we inviting everyone to stay and bowl for free after the service. Take advantage of this fellowship opportunity and invite friends to come with you!
It has been said “Many people like Jesus, but not the church.” People who feel that way probably mean that they don’t like church as they have experienced it. We want to provide a different kind of church experience so people may encounter God in a familiar environment among people that they might already know. So we are starting a church in a place that people gather throughout the week, not just on Sunday, at Akron Lanes in Springfield Township (2911 E. Waterloo Rd. on Rt. 224). We started on Jan. 31, 2010 at 10 am. Everyone is welcome, whether you have never been to a church, you haven’t been in years or you just want something different.
Action Church is a casual, contemporary, church. We have practical teaching, upbeat music, and church services that are fun, interesting and meaningful! Kids and teens enjoy and are engaged and there is child care for 3rd grade and younger during the services. During the week there will be small group opportunities, as well as kids’ clubs and youth group times (Action Teens meets on Monday at 6pm on lanes 61-64, Wed. night is Bible study in the meeting room at 7pm). We will help prepare parents to participate in the spiritual development of their kids.
We want to go to wherever people are and we want to help people in the name of Jesus. We don’t want to build a church building, this way we can use offerings to help more people. We envision growing by starting churches in other bowling centers, also coffee shops, restaurants and even bars. These would all operate under the umbrella of “Action Church.” A name chosen because of the value we place in putting our faith into action on an ongoing basis. So, our slogan is “Faith in Action” (1 John 3:18; see servantevangelism.com).
I pray that you will invest an hour and come visit us!
Come as you are, everyone is welcome.
